David Etukudo Udondagh is a retired director of the church of England Diocese of Southwark, Race Relations Commission. Before that, he was the Director of projects for the Martin Luther King Memorial Fund and Foundation(UK). He has written other books that include: King of Love and Justice , a brief account of the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr(1995). His-Story Our Story? (1998), WE SHALL OVERCOME, commemorating 40 years after the assassination of Martin Luther King, and the contribution to racial justice in Britain, of Bishop Wilfred Wood, Archbishop Sentamu and others (2008) :Gospel Messages For Today, Studies and reflections on the life and teachings of Jesus; (2014), Abasubong; The Unexpected(2019/20), a sequel to Abasubong; The Boy With No Running Shoes.
These publications have been well received in Britain, the Caribbean and Nigeria. The books have all been factual and historical accounts, documented and narrated as accurately as possible. But, Abasubong; The Boy With No Running Shoes is the first novel that he has written, entirely fictional from the beginning to the end. Like most good creative writings, it is intended to convey some helpful and ‘urgent’ messages for our generation, but also to engage, refresh, ‘entertain’, inform, stimulate and challenge the readers. It is the sincere hope of the author and the publishers that the Abasubong novel series does this satisfactorily,
